Real Wedding: Kamelli + Chris

To continue on our Real Weddings month, today we're featuring a local wedding, and a lovely DIY one at that .  Amy Tran & Kamelli Mark of Vancouver and Edmonton-based wedding planners All & Sundry sent over this lovely wedding of Kamelli and Chris which was held at the Chinese Bunkhouse at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard (a national historic site) in Steveston, BC.

All & Sundry's brief for this wedding was simple and we asked them to explain, "We wanted to focus on the natural beauty of the venue and chose our decor elements to complement the natural wood tones throughout the interior and exterior. To maximize our small decor budget, we did a lot of thrifting and DIY projects such as the pennants, chair ribbons, table runners, and cake-toppers. We wanted the floral arrangements to have a big impact, but ever mindful of the budget, we focused on creating visual interest and charm by using collections of smaller rustic arrangements with flowers sourced through local urban farmer, Farmers on 57th, who happened to grow the brideʼs favourite sweet pea flowers. As it was an afternoon wedding, the reception culminated in a late lunch of organic sandwiches and salads, followed by a dessert buffet of assorted cakes, handmade marshmallows from Butter Bakery, and fruit from the local farmerʼs market. We felt like the casual simplicity of both the menu and the presentation of the food were a true reflection of the coupleʼs style and of the overall theme of the day itself, while remaining true to our mandate of working with local suppliers and producers in the true spirit of a collective".

Sounds awesome, let's take a look shall we? (All photos by Tomasz Wagner).
