April Flowers at H&H

Photo: Polly Wreford, Loupe Images

A little peak into H&H's April issue today which is filled with some very pretty flowery images that I'm loving (a welcome change after such a dreary winter); Love this exotic cabinet (above) with its' Asian botanical prints that fill the cutout of the door panels (Home of Charlotte Of Rice in Denmark - Photo: Polly Wreford, Loupe Images) and (below), a bold floral duvet set by Pip Studios (Photo: PiP Studios). Duvet available at The Bay.

Some pretty forced spring blossoms is always a huge pick-me-up at this time of year (Photo: Felix Wedgewood) and to end things, a little floral wallpaper covered clipboards make for a fresh look  after a little spring organizing (below). (Photo: Angus Fergusson  | Produced by Sarah Hartill).

Dispatches from California: Nickey Kehoe Interiors

Venice Beach Residence - Photo: Amy Neunsinger

A few images from the portfolio of the Nickey Kehoe interior design firm out of Los Angeles. Merging their design backgrounds back in 2004,  Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe split their energy between running a design firm focusing on residential and commercial projects and their retail shop which houses their vintage finds, private label products and a selection of handpicked goods from around the world. Fave thing - those accordian wall lamps. From industrial to eclectic, each space with it's own personality; yet a common thread prevails –relaxed and inviting.

Weekend Project: Winter Bulbs

I just took down the Christmas tree yesterday and now I'm longing for more green. I remembered this image from Weekday Carnival where she planted a few in a series of clear jars and glasses for the holidays.  A perfect January weekend project don't you think?  Happy weekend!

Cool Antlers

Well it's another short week here - things should be back on track and in full swing starting next week but I thought I'd drop in with a little post since I'm loving this space so much from the latest issue of Covet Garden.   OCAD grad and photographer, Greg White (no last names in Covet Garden) has a rather eclectic space filled with fun art galore and I couldn't help but fall in love for that bicycle handle bar and seat(?) above his mantle that is fashioned into a antler type thing by Alex Jowett.  Yeah.  Love.  Also that pinball machine piece in the fireplace.  This space makes me want to be this guys friend and hang out and make crafts all day. It also reminds me of my days in Montreal hanging out with my cousin and his friends creating stuff (mostly music and super8's) and painting murals on the doors of my rented McGill ghetto apartment. Check out a few more choice images below and the rest at covetgarden.com.  Photography by Valerie Wilcox.

Sunday Reading

For this week's sunday reading, I'm checking out Inside Out Magazine's latest issue –if you haven't had a chance to pick it up yet, it's a nice little read (you can get it on Zinio) and it's the perfect accompaniment to a morning cup of coffee.  I'm especially loving the modern home of the Pannekoecke family located on the Victorian coastline (Australia).  From the cement floors and room dividers, to the copper lighting, pieces of chunky timber and pops of bright colours, this four bedroom home beams with a vibrant casual feel.  See more of it online as well here. Photography Armelle Habib. Happy sunday!
