Let's Go Camping! | Vintage Boler Rentals

Ready for a little spring/summer getaway? Come springtime, it's inevitable that a few cute campers will start to pop up here on the blog and so when this little Boler passed my radar recently, I knew it had to make an appearance. Not only because it's so adorable but because you can rent it for a little getaway and it's local! 

Golden Age Getaway is a project started by Gamla, a young emerging furniture and product design studio located here in Vancouver in March 2013, renting their fully restored 1973 Boler Trailer.  The camper which was in disrepair was fully renovated adding small design flourishes and functionality while keeping the Boler true to it's original form.  They hand-sewed all the upholstery and curtains using vintage Danish and Japanese textiles, and built all of the other components in their shop.

They also stocked the Boler full of vintage goodies, from Hawaii themed melamine dishes, board games and Manitoban memorabilia. It's truly an amazing little space to spend a vacation.

Hotel Style: Baixa House

I ran into this rather lovely rental recently, an 18th century restored apartment in Lisbon called the Baixa House. A service apartment, it's one of 12 cosy apartments you can rent that offers up daily cleaning services along with fresh breakfasts (fresh bread, yogurt and fruit).  Surrounded by beautiful ironworked balconies, each space has wide floor boards, adorable french doors and unique furnishings. Hotel Style : Fellah Hotel

Located near the Atlas Mountains just outside of Marrakesh, the Fellah Hotel is a mix between traditional contemporary Moroccan and a little bit of vintage seventies. From the luxury of Berber rugs to Eames chairs, the hotel owned by two Parisians, Houria Hafoufou and Redha Moali boasts ten villas (850 square meters each), 69 personalized rooms and a private pool built on 11 hectares of land. Hotel Style: Retrome Barcelona

Back with another lovely hotel this week. This time in Barcelona, with Retrome Barcelona. With seven private boutique hotel rooms, the Retrome boasts an original retro-vintage design, focusing on conserving and restoring all the amazing Gaudi period elements such as the handmade mosaic floors,  hand painted glass nature scenes on the walls of the master corridor and the one of a kind ceiling ornaments and hand crafted beams. My favourite is the art above the beds (I want to do this) and the pendant lighting.  See more at retrome.net.

Hotel Style: Grain & Ficelle

Situated in the country, called vençois, at the foot of the Baou of St Jeannet, in the south of France (between Cannes and Nice), Graine & Ficelle is a french farmhouse turned bed and breakfast hotel. The casual relaxed decor and country setting is perfect for a little French country quiet getaway. Owner Isabella Sallusti provides a child-friendly atmosphere offering cookery lessons from Bernard  Leduc, a local chef from the Organic Restaurant, Hi hotel in Nice. As well she offers activities for children which include visiting the farm animals and feeding time (even birthday parties). No reason not to go to France, now even if you have children! Hotel Style: Wythe Hotel

I came across the Wythe Hotel today on Pinterest and immediately knew I had to include it in a Hotel Style post.  Located in Brooklyn, the Wythe Hotel started with the discovery of a factory on the Williamsburg waterfront that was constructed in 1901 and since has been converted into a 72-room hotel topped with a giant glass cube that lets onto an open-air bar.  My favorite part is the turquoise powder coated bedside tables complete with radio.  See more images below.
