Dispatches from Spain: Nuria Mora New Work

I always go back to Nuria Mora's work, the colours, patterns and the way she works inspires me. So today I found out she's having a new exhibition at the Delimbo Gallery in Seville, Spain starting May 2nd called "Punto Volado". The exhibition will present more than 15 new works, including drawings, paintings, sculpture and an installation which she produced in collaboration with Architectural Digest (AD). Also noteworthy, Nuria has also recently produced a series of wallpapers for Bloom papers (sample below). Lots of bright coloured florals and patterns for spring!

One day, walking the streets around my neighborhood, I saw this new place, so I went in, as I do every time I see something new. I suddenly fell in love with this place and started asking the lovely girls inside questions and I thought I had to share this discovery with you.

La Manual is a co-working space for artists and artisans, a place where one can come work, give workshops and at the same time, rent some of the halls and put on a concert or some painting classes. They also organize a monthly market, la Tartalana, where different artisans are invited to share their products with those already working in the space. The location in the bustling neighborhood of Malasaña makes it a good spot to see and meet new artists and artisans.

A fun project out of Madrid, called Bicycled, a bike made out of cars. On their website they are accepting requests for the very first bikes that they are producing right now. More info at bicycledbikes.com.

Hotel Style: Retrome Barcelona

Back with another lovely hotel this week. This time in Barcelona, with Retrome Barcelona. With seven private boutique hotel rooms, the Retrome boasts an original retro-vintage design, focusing on conserving and restoring all the amazing Gaudi period elements such as the handmade mosaic floors, hand painted glass nature scenes on the walls of the master corridor and the one of a kind ceiling ornaments and hand crafted beams. My favourite is the art above the beds (I want to do this) and the pendant lighting. See more at retrome.net.
