Sunday Reading | Chatelaine Summer Living

I picked up a copy of Chatelaine Magazine's Summer Living (special edition) this weekend and it's got me in the mood for a little summertime decorating.  Like most special editions, there's a few images you'll recognize from issues past, but they've done a pretty good job of keeping it fresh and interesting, offering up designer tips, weekend project ideas and room makeovers.  I snipped a few sneak peeks to inspire a little sunday reading for yourself. Loving the patio lanterns hanging on a string in this photo (above). I picked up something similar at Home Depot recently (we're using it for our Chinatown Night Market at the moment) but I think they will be around for summers to come.

Toss cushions are a fun idea for the deck, don't you think? Love them around that extra big tree stump.

I checked online if there was a digital issue (but not that I can tell), but here is a link to their subscriptions online. Yay summer!

Help Covet Garden Home Project

Covet Garden magazine would like publish  Covet Garden Home—a 100+ page half magazine/half book - a version of their online magazine with more additions and features. I've always made it a policy not to post crowd-funding projects on my blog, but this time I'm going to make an exception. Because of a few things. For one, Covet Garden has been giving us "FREE" online magazines for quite sometime now, two - it's Canadian content (so important to support) and three, after watching their video on indiegogo, I find them all so endearing! I just want to sit down and have a coffee with all three of them and talk about decor now. I mean really (maybe that should be one of the perks if you donate). Needless to say, I think we most definitely need to support this and what will I'm sure be a beautiful publication if it goes through. Click here for more info!

Sneak Peek! April Inside Out Magazine

We have a sneak peek inside the April issue of Inside Out Magazine featuring the super colourful Sydney home of Courtney, an unreformed art lover. Courtney mentions, “I needed maximum wall space for all the artwork, so there are skylights and high windows. Every time [architect] David [Boyle] came to me with a new window in the design, I'd scowl at him and ask for more wall space.” We love the yellow bathroom which Courtney says, “It’s like a folly and I love it. I decided to not only go the bright yellow, but to go all yellow.”

Inside Out Magazine - New Issue + Fun Announcement!

So I'm rather excited to share with you a fun thing today!  Inside Out Magazine's latest issue (Jan/Feb ‘13) is out tomorrow (or maybe today if you're in Australia) and I'm super honoured to be featured in it!  A huge thank you to Lee Tran Lam and everyone involved in the full page "blogger profile" feature. I'm so pinching myself!  (Thanks to Janis Nicolay too for supplying the beautiful photo's for the feature). Lee Tran sent along a few sneak peeks of the new issue which looks rather amazing - including a DIY, a story on textiles and a feature on Melbourne artist Kirra Jamison  Lets' take a look!
