So it's not a big deal, but it is a big deal. We finally have a little more organization happening here on the blog (and a bit of a new look) - thanks to Earl and his magic coding skills (a feat when you're dealing with blogger - which is just not meant to do any of this stuff).
But to make a long story short and not get too boring with it all - we have a new and improved navigation system which when you hover with your mouse from a desktop, it opens and closes and when you're on an iPad you click the category to open and click the category to close. The new navigation lets you see deeper into the site, which after eight years and thanks to all of our past and present contributors has a heap of things to see.
I don't know about you but I'm finding it very noisy on the internet, so much to take in, so much distraction – so we're trying to totally calm down the whole look of the site. Less banners, no animated ads, and just less basic clutter.
The work is still in progress, as we work on more galleries for our DIYs, a new about page, footer clean-up and other surprises along the way.
You may have noticed, we also have a new slide show of sorts (at the top of the page) Earl coded with highlights to quickly take you to new things we think you might like but may have missed.
So thanks to all of you for hanging in there with us as we go forward and for being so patient with our redesign. There's still more to come, so stay tuned. If you have any comments or suggestions (or if you find something broken), please feel free to leave them here.
