Natural Christmas Tree

I want to share with you the natural Christmas tree at our store. I used different birds, birds nest, a bird house, grapevine and moss garland, moss ribbon, feathers, and a lot of red with a touch of gold to decorate the tree this year.

I used craft paper as gift wrapping, striped ribbon and twine, glittery deer and a free printable for gift tags.

I displayed some of the gifts in a small red wagon to add a vintage touch to the decor.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

Sheet Music and Twine Ornaments

Today I'm sharing with you a simple and fun way to make your own Christmas ornaments. I used clear glass ornaments from Hobby Lobby and filled them with strips of vintage sheet music, twine, and red striped ribbon.

Really anything small and thin can be used inside the ornaments. Since I already had the materials on hand, I just worked with what I had. This year I used a lot of natural elements in my Christmas decor, so these neutral colored ornaments add to the theme.

I displayed them at the store in well worn, vintage sewing machine drawers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Mantel

This year I decorated the mantel at our store with natural greenery, magnolia leaves, pine cones, glittered birds and some moss and burlap ribbon to finish it off. It's hard to believe that it all started with just two strands of inexpensive garland and eventually it ended up looking so natural. I just kept layering and layering until I had the look I was going for.

I use natural elements all throughout my Christmas decor every year. There's just something about the fresh smell and the beauty of nature that I never get tired of.

This gorgeous mantel was originally oak and we updated it with a lot of paint and a little distressing. Check out the Mantel Makeover HERE.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks ahead. I'll be sharing more of my Christmas crafts and Christmas decor with you.

DIY Branch Ornament Tree

Today I want to share with you the branch ornament tree we put together for the store's Christmas Open House. It's a festive and inexpensive way to add a lot of drama on the buffet in your dining room or on a foyer entry table, but really this tree could go anywhere in your home.

Gather up branches from your yard (or the woods) to fill an urn, planter, or tall container. Then hang 10 or more Christmas ornaments on the branches until you have the look you desire.

The mercury glass acorn ornaments I used actually came from Walmart last season. I just love the way they reflect and shimmer in the light. So simple and elegant!

Thanks for stopping by!

Glittered Trophies

I love coming up with creative uses for inexpensive finds. You know I just can't leave it
"as is". So while browsing Target about a month ago I saw these ceramic trophies on clearance and knew they could be so much more.

I bought gold glitter and spray adhesive and made a HUGE mess while trying to adhere the glitter to the trophies, but I'm so happy with how they turned out! They are displayed at the store with sheet music bundles and a wrapped gift.

We are having Christmas Open House at the store tomorrow, so stay tuned for more Christmas projects that I made for the event.

Brown Paper Xmas wrapping&deko

Brown paper is just so versatile and creates that down to earth eco look for your presents and decorations.
Also old maps are another great way of recycling,
use them as wrapping or may be cut some little stars out of them and hang in your tree...
Little hearts below can be created into a chain with sewing machine- easy!

Alternative Xmas tree

Here is some great alternative options for the traditional Xmas tree. These might work well, if you have a small apartment with limited floor space or just simply don't feel like cleaning the pine needles afterwards.

Be inspired to do your tree differently this year!

Mrs. H's Christmas Home Tour- Part 1

My friend, Mrs. H decorates beautifully for Christmas and year around too, I knew that y’all would enjoy seeing it, so I did a photo shoot at her house while I was at her annual Christmas Party and I'm sharing today. You’re going to love it. Her home tour is in 2 parts because there's too much to share for one blog post.

The mantel is accented with white, gold, and silver along with natural sticks and hydrangeas.

I'm inspired by this gorgeous antique secretary in the formal living room. Mrs. H incorporates a lot of her mothers antiques that were inherited, mixed with a variety of her own.

Who wouldn't want a fresh cut Christmas tree in their master bedroom, it's a wonderful idea!

The tree is simply accented with birds and pops of red through out.

LOVE this branch tree with mercury glass ornaments! This project is definitely on my to-do list for next Christmas!

An overview of the living room, she has a great eye for decorating.

The dining room buffet decorated in gold and silver for Christmas.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of Mrs. H's Home Tour. I'll be showing you all the pieces of furniture we painted for her, bought from our store. I can't wait for you to see how beautiful they look in her house. Come back tomorrow for more inspiration from the talented Mrs. H.

Christmas Home Tour

Welcome to our home, I'd like to show you around! We have been busy decorating the inside and outside of our house for Christmas. This year I decorated very simple with natural materials and lots of red accents. I've joined The Inspired Room and The Nester for their Virtual Christmas Home Tours.

I made my front door wreath, mailbox swag and dining room table centerpiece using natural greenery, magnolia leaves, pine cones and red berries.
