Sheet Music Eggs
Can you believe it's already March?! I can not express how excited I am about warmer weather and all the wonderful things that come along with Spring! These next few months will be exciting and stressful as we finish building our house. It seems like it's been a long planning process, but the actual build has flown by so fast. I'm looking forward to moving in, decorating our new home, and making it our own.
Today I'm sharing with you a simple project that would be great for Easter or spring.
To make these sheet music eggs, I started out with a pack of inexpensive plastic eggs, then I tore strips of sheet music and randomly modpodged them to the eggs.
I let them dry, then I added bird, butterfly, and floral scrapbook stickers to the eggs for a bright and springy look.
I have the eggs displayed in moss and I love how they look all grouped together.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

DIY Framed Sheet Music
I came across this great idea from The Inspired Room and just had to give it a try. She used old book pages to make framed art, but I decided to use vintage sheet music instead. Both will work just fine for this project.
This project was great for all of those empty frames sitting around our store. I enjoyed making this framed artwork because it was SO simple and I already had all of the materials I needed on hand.
Here's how to make your own framed artwork.
ONE: Find a large frame to paint.
TWO: Choose a book to rip apart.
THREE: Arrange the book pages to fit inside your frame.
FOUR: Use double sided tape and attach the book pages to each other.
FIVE: Cut foam core board or cardboard to your frame size.
SIX: Use spray adhesive and attach the book pages to the board.
SEVEN: Staple the back of the board to the frame.
EIGHT: Hang your frame and admire your DIY Framed Sheet Music.

Sheet Music and Twine Ornaments
Today I'm sharing with you a simple and fun way to make your own Christmas ornaments. I used clear glass ornaments from Hobby Lobby and filled them with strips of vintage sheet music, twine, and red striped ribbon.
Really anything small and thin can be used inside the ornaments. Since I already had the materials on hand, I just worked with what I had. This year I used a lot of natural elements in my Christmas decor, so these neutral colored ornaments add to the theme.

Glittered Trophies
"as is". So while browsing Target about a month ago I saw these ceramic trophies on clearance and knew they could be so much more.
We are having Christmas Open House at the store tomorrow, so stay tuned for more Christmas projects that I made for the event.

DIY Sheet Music Pinwheel Banner
With Thanksgiving quickly approaching I thought I'd make a simple and festival banner out of vintage sheet music, letters, twine and clothespins for the store. This project cost nothing to make since I already had all of the materials on hand. Here is where I first saw this creative idea and just had to make my own.
ONE- Gather up your sheet music, old hymn books or vintage book pages. My favorite books to use usually have an old patina and can be found at estate sales. I just like how they look, but really, any book will do. You will need 2 sheets per pinwheel.
TWO- Fan fold your pages. There can be as little or as many folds as you want, depending on how tight you want your pinwheel folds. This is something you will have to play around with until you get the look you like.
THREE- Fold each of your fans in half and staple or glue both of them on the fold.
FOUR- Glue both of the halves together. You kind of just have to play with it until it looks and lays right.
Once dry, print off your letters onto card stock or plain paper and secure it to the center of your pinwheel.
There are so many different "sayings" you can make with these pinwheel banners!
THANKS for stopping by!

DIY Sheet Music Tree
I was in Anthropologie about a month ago and spotted this super cute paper tree. The $48 price tag turned my stomach a little bit, and I immediately thought "Hey, I could make that!" So I did for less than $3 and now I'm going to share it with you! This is a super easy project, it just takes some time to do... but when it's finished you'll be taken back by how charming this Christmas decor piece is!
Inspiration Paper Tree from Anthro
You will need:
A small wooden dowel
A piece of scrap wood for the base
Sheet Music book or similar printed paper
Scalloped scissors or paper cutter
Hole punch
A tree topper
A small wooden dowel
A piece of scrap wood for the base
Sheet Music book or similar printed paper
Scalloped scissors or paper cutter
Hole punch
A tree topper
Start by attaching your wooden dowel to a piece of flat scrap wood for the base. I drilled a hole big enough for the dowel to fit securely down into, through the top of the scrap board.
Grab an old music book and start cutting! I used scalloped scissors and started with squares about 6" in size, and just kept making them smaller as I went along. You will need a whole bunch of these! I made about 30 squares of each size.
Now all you have to do is start stacking your paper pieces (starting with the largest to the smallest) Just keep stacking! Keep your papers rotated randomly for that cone effect.
Add a small ornament or tree topper. {I used twine} That's all there is to it! Easy project. The most tedious part is cutting all of the paper, but the end result is worth it!
