Awwww - Pets...
Pets can really make a home can't they!
This cat looks a lot like my cat Jessie.
BUT, I can tell you without a second thought that Jessie would not be this patient if we had a little feathered friend like this one hanging around!
How good was that cat?! It only started to get really cranky (and even then in a pretty controlled manner) at the end.
Jessie would've had a few feathers sticking out of her mouth and the bird would've been mysteriously absent by that stage....

The Rug And The Culprit - Caught In The Act...
When I did part 6 of the 'quote journey' around my home, quite a few people mentioned their fondness for the rugs seen in the hallway, and some even wanted a close up!
I also mentioned how my cat Jessie likes to claw on them, and how it doesn't really matter (thank goodness), because due to their 'tufted' nature, the clawing really doesn't make them look all that different!
For the purposes of the promised close-up however, here's the afore-mentioned 'culprit' in action!
The colours aren't quite right, but you get the idea!!

For Your Weekend Entertainment... A Squirrel Take-over, A Cat Shower, and A Surprise!!
These 3 items were found over on Cute Overload in their Top 10 Posts of 2009 post.
Oh my goodness..... so cute and FUNNY!
First up, a squirrel take-over. This little guy decided HE wanted to get in on the action in this holiday snap.
Gotta love a 'limelight stealing' squirrel!
And now, secondly, preeeeeeeesenting...... the most inefficient water drinker in the entire world. (Or the smartest one, I'm not sure if putting his mouth under the stream of water would have been any better!) By the end of this (at the 2 minute mark it progressed to the ridiculous stage), I was in gales of laughter. Sore stomach.
Finally, a surprise....... everybody loves them!

The Pug 'Head Tilt'...
How cute is this!
I was around at a good friend's house tonight for some great thai food, chocolate, and bubbly.... and we were looking at stuff on You Tube.
Animals are so wonderful to have around aren't they!

Rattan Headboard and Storage Under The Bed!

3 Things To Love - The Comfort Of Soft Little Things...
You might've noticed I'm starting some new categories involving numbers (1 Simple Thing, Gimme 5), and this category is going to be all about things I love.
Things that make a difference to the feel of my home.
Things that bring a spark or maybe even an explosion of joy to my life.
Things that make my heart skip a beat because they're just so beautiful to look at.
Here then, are 3 things to love today....... all of which would be so blissful to touch and stroke. Having little delights like these around our homes and yards is an absolute blessing to the soul! Nothing soothes quite so well as the innocent, soft, joyous presence of a little ball of fluff.... or fur.... or feathers!!

The 'Nurturing Home' Revisited, And A Cute Kitten!
A while back I posted 'The A,B,C's Of A Nurturing Home', a lovely, warm, inspiring list suggesting what truly makes a house a home. Very much worth a re-read to affirm just what really is important in our lives and our homes (and the pics are totally gorgeous too!).
When I saw this brilliant photo, it reminded me of the 'P' entry in that alphabetical list and why they're such a wonderful addition to any home!
Don't you just love pets! Go cat go!
Ask yourself: 'Does my home manifest many of the ABC's of a nurturing home?'
Which leads to: 'How can I create a more nurturing atmosphere within my home? What's missing?'
Because: Your home is what you make it..... you can choose to consciously create an atmosphere that cradles, nurtures, and supports you throughout your life.
