Modular Workstations
Starting small is a common theme for any business. As the needs of your business grow, modular products can save you a bundle. These mobile training room tables can be formed into a variety of shapes including boat shaped conference tables and other unique layouts for boardroom applications. In addition, Bungee Table solutions can be separated to form free standing training room tables for added value. Butterflies + A Tea Party for Mom's Day

Contributor post by Janis Nicolay of Pinecone Camp.

I love a little origami, and I love a little baking...makes for a happy Mom's Day tea party. Ms. Poppytalk herself popped over to my house, to help fold some butterflies and set up for the shoot. I'm definitely going to replicate this for my mom next weekend. So glad I have all these butterflies ;)

Jan, bringing over the marmalade sugar cookie sandwiches to the table

Here's a "how-to" clip of making the butterflies. It's pretty simple, and hard to stop once you start. I scanned in some pretty fabric, to make my origami paper. These butterflies were made with 10 inch squares. How-to clip recorded by Robert Edmonds.

Butterflies were simply taped onto braided ribbon and pinned to wall (left). I didn't have napkins that worked with everything, so I stitched up some scraps of raw cotton, with bright yellow thread.

I wrapped a few small pots of rosemary, origami style, as table decoration and to give away to guests apres party.

Marmalade sugar cookie sandwiches. Pistachio raspberry cake, lime ricotta muffins. The cute stand that the cookies are on, is from the Cross. All recipes are over at Pinecone Camp - click here to get the recipes.

Do you have plans for mom's big day? Fill us in!

Have a good day!

Revamp of two wing chairs...how to give a tired piece of furniture a whole new life

At a house clearance recently people were trying to sell off a pair of very old and tired wing backed chairs. As they were from before 1950, they didn't meet fire regulations so if no one would buy them, they would end up in the skip....charity shops don't take them! Luckily me and my side-kick Debra from Willow Cottage came to the rescue and took them off their hands.

A few weeks later and this is the result. I choose a charcoal deep grey velvet for the inside and a grey and mustard yellow printed 'stamp' fabric for the outside of the chair. Debra selected a 100% wool tartan material to cover the whole of her chair. Initially meant to sell them on to our customers, we both love the chairs so much that we are just going to keep them all to ourselves! (*but do let us know if you want your own chair revamped like this!)

This is what I did to mine...

Charcoal velvet and stamp fabric, plus grey painted legs

And this is what Debra did to hers...

100% Scottish wool

Good results or what? Incredible how they have both turned out and funny to think they were once a matching set...

Inspirational Designs for the Home Office

Home offices have recently increased in popularity as more people choose to work from home.  However, we believe that having your own office at home should involve more than just a desk with a computer.  Not only can it provide a relaxed environment for work, but with key design elements, may also serve as a source of inspiration and quiet refuge.  Many also use their home office area as a study, or a quiet place to unwind and read away from the distractions of the rest of the home.

We've collected some ideas of beautifully designed luxury home office spaces ranging from traditional to contemporary to minimalist styles:

This Princeton Executive Desk by Savannah Collections presents all the refined air of an academic study.  The base is finished in Cherry Mahogany, and the top provides a beautiful contrast with its inlaid black leather desktop.  Gold accents complete the hand-carved design, creating a hint of understated elegance and sophistication.

To complement the desk is the Princeton Wall Unit/Bookcase.  This awe-inspiring wooden bookcaseallows for ample storage for your beloved book collection or keepsakes, and protect them from the elements behind tempered glass doors.

For a different kind of traditional office style, the Henredonvignette below showcases a beautiful study with a slim, oval table and a pair of sleek chairs.  Warm tones of green, burgundy, orange and gold create an effortlessly relaxed atmosphere.  The graceful bookcases on each side of the mantle offer a space for displaying books and treasures.

We simply adore this contemporary office below, with its charmingly paired black desk and wall unit, accented with wonderful shades of green to brighten the space.

If you like your office space even brighter, a white desk alongside white walls decorated with vibrant accessories can awaken the senses and may help you tackle that long office task list.
In contrast, if you’d like to create a calming ambiance within your home office, it can be as simple as limiting your decor to the bare essentials.  A minimalist approach can produce a tranquil work space, so that you can focus on important projects.  A clean design can foster a serene state of mind known to increase productivity and even help generate ideas.

We instantly fell in love with this stunningly curved, white desk below, which is both eye-catching and clean in design.  We love the natural wood storage area and its extraordinary rounded ends.  A matching storage component behind it, and simple, minimal decor add warmth to the room, while complimenting the simple design.

We hope that these home office designs have given you as much inspiration as they have given us.  Ultimately, your office space should provide you a space that corresponds to your work-style and needs.  Serene or stimulating, dark or bright, the most essential ingredient to the perfect home office or study is that you are completely in love with it.

Q+A with Puur Anders

Today's Q+A takes us to the Netherlands to interview Miranda van Dijk of Puur Anders. I've admired Puur Anders for a few years now, with her beautiful fabric flowers and leaves that she applies photographs to, readymade or custom ordered. Such a precious gift to give for Mother's Day, a bride, a grad, even yourself. Here's her bio and answers to some of our questions.

Bio:
I was born in 1976 in a small village near Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Nowadays I live in a larger village nearby my hometown with my husband and our son of 3. In 2008 I started Puur Anders, a styling and design studio. Puur Anders means pure and different in Dutch.

Tell us a little bit about you. Where did you train or study and what led you to the path you currently are on?
I’ve studied Tourism and economics after high school and worked as a pr-advisor for a bank for several years. I quit my day job when I started studying Interior Styling. It was great, the creativity and conceptual working! Finally I found what I was looking for all these years. I thought. But what I loved most was the creating process. And doing something of my own and not working for a company. Now I think I’m more an independent artist than a stylist, but then I didn’t realized that. Between the school assignments I’d already created the story concept ‘Abandoned by Nature’ about the last woman on Earth who is abandoned by Mother Nature. For this concept I crocheted dark rubber flower jewelry. I started selling these items on markets and galleries and Puur Anders was coming to live.

What's your main focus currently and/or how would you describe your current design aesthetic?
Today I’m working on my collection Hidden Memories. A collection of leaves and flowers printed with vintage photographs. It is inspired by the connection between nature and humankind. Somehow it has always been an issue in my work.
Although I make leaves and flowers with my own pictures found on Etsy and fleamarkets, my main focus is custom work. I like that a lot, working on an order with a customer’s photo. Photographs are important memories and making a leaf or flower of it is very worthwhile.

Love your work - can you explain that design process?
Ideas always pop up when it is quiet in my head. So I always carry a notebook with me. It is full of ideas sometimes with a simple drawing or a clipping from a magazine. Some ideas will stay there until I’ve found time for it or an idea how to produce it. Most of the time I have to start with the material right away. So I can found out whether it works or not. Last year I’ve noticed I have to post my experiments on social media (facebook and blog) to get some comments on it. Positive reactions are such a boost for my work process.

What designers/makers/architects, etc do you look up to, are influenced by or inspire you?

I get inspired by so many wonderful designers, photographers, makers and bloggers. I like dreamy and poetic work a lot. On my blog I share my inspiration. Here are some sites.

Barbara Munsel http://barbaramunsel.com/
Lyndie Dourth http://lyndiedourtheworks.blogspot.fr/
Frieda Mellema http://www.lab71.nl/
Humanoid http://www.humanoid.nl/
Kirstie van Noort http://www.kirstievannoort.nl/
Mady Dooijes http://anabundanceof.blogspot.nl/

Where else do you pull inspiration from?
Everywhere! Nature, citylife and just around the corner. I’ve found a beautiful leaf lately. It was just on my doorstep. Pinterest, blogs and facebook are also very inspiring!

Any sneak peeks or plans you can share of new or future things on the go?

Well, I’m working on a lot of new flowers for framing or to put in a vase. My dream is to make a whole bouquet with memory flowers and branches. Or decorating a wedding with my work.
And on my own site (in Dutch) I opened my Mooie Momenten Tuin, which means ‘Garden of Beautiful Moments’. It is a digital garden where I share the stories behind the flowers and leaves I’ve made for my customers and myself. I want it to be a garden of inspiration and full of memories where you can wander around. It is a place for celebrating and cherishing the beautiful moments in life, like marriage, birth and holidays, but also a place for goodbyes and memories of people who aren’t here anymore. Cherishing them.

It is a start and I let it grow wild and peaceful at the same time. I don’t know where it will take me, but I like the idea of being inspired or moved by the stories I hear of my customers.
The garden on my site is in Dutch, but I’ve opened an English version too: http://gardenofbeautifulmoments.blogspot.nl/
