Etsy Pop-Up at west elm Instagram-Style

It was a great weekend here in Vancouver and especially at the Etsy Pop-Up at west elm on Saturday!  Here's a few pictures (instagram style) of the event, which was like one big party, really. I want to personally thank all of you who stopped by, it was amazing to catch up with so many of you and meet others from the online world! If you can imagine, heaps of delicious cupcakes and s'mores (with homemade marshmallows) served by Rosie of Butter Baked Goods, incredible west elm hosts (Andrea and Ella who flew in from Brooklyn and Joshua here in Vancouver), some amazing tunes from DJ Trike, some crazy good cocktails using bittered sling extracts from Kale & Nori (seriously refreshing), and a heap of amazing handmade goods!  Check them out!

Yay! The weekend is finally here and I'm really looking forward to the Etsy Pop-Up Shop at west elm on Saturday! I can't wait to see all the vendors displays we curated and to finally taste some of those specially made cupcakes and treats from Butter Baked Goods.

Love the Sea + Mountains | West Elm + Etsy Pop-Up Shop

I'm getting really excited for the upcoming Etsy + West Elm Pop-Up Shop happening next Saturday, May 25th. I dropped by for a preview Wednesday nite and the store is looking so summery and pretty (think sunsets and lots of flowers)! I wanted to take everything home with me.  We wanted to give you all a sneak peek of the Etsy shops we curated for the event. West Elm is so supportive of local makers across all of their stores in the U.S., here in Canada and now in Australia and so I'm honoured to have been asked to curate a unique collection for this special day. Fun too, how things come together and you find common denominators. As I was looking through all the Etsy shops participating, I found a connection running through many of them; the sea and the mountains. Must-Have Lighting from West Elm

West Elm has hit it out of the ballpark with this gorgeous copper pendant light cord set. Not only is copper the “must have” metal right now, this cord light is so adaptable and totally affordable.  Cluster four or five together around a found branch and hang from the ceiling for a simple DIY chandelier or or customize with different bulbs. New Blooms at West Elm!

West Elm welcomes spring with seven new paper hand-folded blossoms to their in-store flower shop this season.  Choose from seven new varieties (to make a total of 9); even one in a print design by Sarah Campbell. All would work in a variety of decor displays, even for weddings! They also have some new vases to hold all these lovelies –from a ceramic woven series to their latest collaboration with dbO Home, whom they worked with Dana Brandwein featuring delicate vases imprinted with patterns taken from cactus plants.  Incidentally, West Elm stores will host a number of community-driven events this year with a continued focus on DIY and handcrafted items.  The first event is entitled “Spring Social” and is happening next Wednesday, February 6 from 6-8pm at various locations around the U.S. and Canada.
