The International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) says that bedding sales are up with a double-digit increase for the first half of the year. From January to June 2010, sales by units went up by 11.3% while dollar sales went up by 10.7%, as compared to 2009 sales from the same period.
ISPA also said that specialty mattress unit sales increased by 35.2% while innerspring mattress unit sales went up by 11.2%, as evaluated against 2009’s numbers. The specialty mattress dollar value went up 33.9% while the innerspring mattress dollar value increased by 4.9%.
The above statistics was gleaned from the sales of 20 bedding producers who make up the majority of units and sale revenues in the bedding industry.
